Poop to go!

Gro Baby Shell Set, KiwiWe had our first poo in public today. I took Jack to the mall for lunch and a little air conditioned exercise. I knew he hadn't pooped for a couple days and was due for a good one. I almost chickened out and went for a disposable, but last time I used a disposable for poop time we had a huge mess--up Jack's back and all over the cute outfit I had just picked out for him. I've been told that a great thing about cloth diapers is that they contain the poop better than disposables. Jack, always a trooper, decided to test this theory with a nice stinky one. The diaper did great. He was wearing his new kiwi Gro-Via diaper that we have as part of the trail package from Jillian's Drawers with one of his GroBaby inserts because they are fully preped. The poop was completely contained and didn't even get on the shell, which was nice because the green shell is adorable.

Planet Wise Wet Diaper Bag - Medium River RockI popped the liner our and tossed it into the travel sized Planet Wise wet bag I carry in my diaper bag. Since the shell hadn't gotten anything on it I laid it out to dry on top of the stroller while I fed Jack.

During Jack's feeding I kept smelling dirty diaper. I thought maybe he had another dirty diaper since he often likes to double up. I checked and everything looked clean. Finally I remembered the shell sitting on the stroller. Ugh, it wasn't dirty looking but it stunk. I zipped it into the wet bag and ta-da, smell was gone. It was like a dirty diaper had never happened. At home the diaper was emptied into the large hamper sized wet bag we use for all dirty diapers (also a Planet Wise product) and with the travel wet bag followed. Everything will get washed together next time we do diaper laundry. I do think I need to get another travel wet bag or two so that I don't have to do laundry to be able to go out again.

  1. Tell Jack to time his next poop for when you're in Nordstrom's. Seriously, they have the best changing facilities ever!

  2. I think we were in Nordy's. I changed him on a very nice upholstered couch anyway.
